Hoan Kiem Lake (Hồ Hoàn Kiếm)

Hoan Kiem Lake (Hồ Hoàn Kiếm), also known as the "Lake of the Returned Sword," is a serene and historic lake located in the heart of Hanoi, Vietnam. Surrounded by lush greenery and scenic walkways, it provides a peaceful retreat from the bustling city. The lake features the iconic Turtle Tower (Tháp Rùa) on a small island and the Ngoc Son Temple (Đền Ngọc Sơn) on Jade Island, connected by the charming red Huc Bridge (Cầu Thê Húc). Legend has it that the lake's name comes from a magical sword returned to the Golden Turtle God by Emperor Le Loi. Hoan Kiem Lake is a hub of local activity, with residents practicing Tai Chi in the mornings and various festivals and night markets adding to its vibrant atmosphere.
